Community Art Class with Al Hubbard

Join Plains Indian Museum Artist in Residence, Al Hubbard, for a free commmunity mixed media art class! Open to community and visitors ages 8 and above (children must be accompanied by an adult).

During the heart of Cody's Stampede Rodeo celebrations, here's another chance to experience our unique cowboy culture!

Whether you are a budding photographer, rodeo aficionado, or just love the history of the Old West, you don t want to miss spending time with Click as he shares his serendipitous photographic journey into the heart of the American rodeo.

Photographer, graphic designer, and educator, Thompson channels his east coast roots to capture a modern western icon: The American Cowboy. From the grand vistas of the American west to the boots and spurs of each cowboy passed, there are always new moments to see, feel, capture, and share.

join Click and our expert Exclusive Tours guides on a tour thru rodeo and cowboy history. From paintings by Charlie  the Kid  Russell and N.C. Wyeth in the Whitney Western Art Museum to the legendary performers of the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, Click s photographs will be on display FOR ONE DAY ONLY alongside some of our most treasured artifacts.

Attention young nature enthusiast: Join us for an unforgettable journey where students will learn to observe sketch, and document the beauty of our great outdoors Get ready to discover and embrace the natural wonders through the art of nature journaling!

Sensory Adventure with Smell and Sight (Ages 4-5)

July 12; Ages 4-5 (10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)

Focusing on our senses of smell and sight, we will explore natural world around us. With active play and lots of games, students will start to appreciate the smells and colors all around. Fee $10/session for members and $12/session for general public.

 

 

Scats and Tracks (k-2nd Grade)

July 16th-18th; K-2nd Grade

What's that smell? Oh, it is just our poopologist preparing to take k-2nd graders on an interesting and exciting journey involoving animal scats and tracks! I promise this one is going to be super stinkin' fun!

Sensory Adventure with Sound (Ages 4-5)

July 19; Ages 4-5 (10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)

Focusing on our sense of hearing, we will explore natural world around us. With active play and lots of games, students will start to appreciate the sounds of nature. Fee $10/session for members and $12/session for general public.

 

Colorful Creations morning session (Grades K-2)

July 22-July 25; Currently enrolled K-2 graders; (9:00-10:30 a.m.)

Instructor Sarah Shearer will lead students in a art journey using a variety of materials through a variety of projects. Focusing on the building blocks of art and design, these art classes are a whole lot of creativity combined with a whole lot of fun. $40/student; $35/member

July 22-July 25, 2024; Currently enrolled 3rd -5th graders (1:00-2:30 p.m.)

July 26; Ages 4-5 (10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.)

Focusing on our sense of touch, we will explore natural world around us. With active play and lots of games, students will start to appreciate the textures inside and outside the museum. $10/session for members and $12/session for general public.

 

 

The Art of Angling (4th-8th Grade)

July 29- Aug 1; 4th - 8th Grade

Join us July 29-August 1st, where we will be exploring the ecosystem of trout, mastering knots and casting techniques, trying our hands at fly tying, and embracing the ethics of responsible fishing. through interactive demonstrations and guided sessions, students will acquire the skills and knowledge to be proficient anglers. From reading the water to selecting the correct fly, and possibly even catching a trout, this program will give you the basics to get on the water. Get ready to reel in the excitment this summer!
